A k-3rd grade assessment takes an average time of 28 hours in a single classroom of 25 students a quarter. So what does that mean? This means in one school we lose 168 hours of classroom learning every semester due to required assessments. This also means the other students in the classroom are given “28 hours of busy work,” because of the one on one attention listening to each child read a letter, number, and word for phonemic accuracy requires.
